Invitation rounds for Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored visas will run once a month. These rounds are expected to run on the 11th day of each month. Dates for the rounds are subject to change.
Each round invitation numbers may vary depending on the number of applications being processed by the Department.
Note: State or territory government nominations for Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) will not be impacted.

INVITATION PROCEDURE AND CUT OFFS
The clients who are ranked highest in the point scores are invited to apply for the relevant visa. For those who have equal points score, the time at which the reached their score decides the order of their invitation.

THE DATES OF EFFECT CUT OFF AND POINT SCORES FOR THE PRO RATA OCCUPATIONS IN THE 10 JANUARY 2020 INVITATION ROUND.
Because of high demands and in keeping with previous years, the below mentioned occupation groups will be subject to pro rata arrangements to make sure of the availability of invites across the whole program year.
Skill Select first allocates available places to Skilled – Independent visas (subclass 189) and then the remaining to Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – Family Sponsored. If all places are taken up by subclass 189 visas then there will be no invitations issued for subclass 491 visas in these occupations.
