Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy Statement

Purpose:

At Vision Consultants Australia, we are committed to conducting all student recruitment activities with honesty, integrity, transparency, and in full compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards in Australia and the countries in which we operate.

This Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy establishes the standards of conduct expected of all employees, contractors, consultants, agents, education counsellors, and representatives engaged in recruiting students for international education opportunities.

Policy Statement

Vision Consultants Australia maintains a zero-tolerance approach to bribery, corruption, facilitation payments, kickbacks, fraud, and unethical business practices.

No employee or representative may, directly or indirectly:

  • Offer, promise, give, request, solicit, or accept any bribe, kickback, inducement, or improper payment.
  • Provide or receive cash, gifts, commissions, discounts, entertainment, or other benefits intended to improperly influence a decision or secure an unfair advantage.
  • Falsify, alter, or misrepresent student information, academic records, financial documents, English language test results, visa documentation, or any other information related to a student application.
  • Engage third parties, agents, or referral partners who participate in corrupt or unethical practices.
  • Make unofficial payments to government officials, educational institutions, or any other individuals to expedite or influence decisions.
  • Accept personal incentives from students, parents, institutions, or service providers that could compromise professional judgement.

Ethical Recruitment Practices

All staff must ensure that:

  • Students receive accurate, complete, and unbiased information about education providers, courses, fees, visa requirements, living costs, and employment prospects.
  • Recruitment advice prioritises the best interests of the student and aligns with their genuine academic goals and circumstances.
  • Commission arrangements with education providers are transparent, lawful, and do not influence the quality or impartiality of advice provided.
  • Students are never pressured, misled, or encouraged to provide false information.
  • All interactions with education providers, government agencies, and partners are conducted professionally and ethically.

Gifts, Hospitality, and Benefits

Employees may only offer or accept reasonable gifts or hospitality that:

  • Are of modest value;
  • Are infrequent and appropriate to the business relationship;
  • Comply with applicable laws and institutional requirements; and
  • Cannot reasonably be perceived as influencing a business decision.

Cash gifts or cash equivalents, including gift cards or personal payments, are strictly prohibited.

Any gift, hospitality, or benefit that may create a real or perceived conflict of interest must be disclosed to management immediately.

Third-Party Representatives

Vision Consultants Australia expects all recruitment partners, subcontractors, agents, and service providers to comply with this policy.

Appropriate due diligence will be conducted before engaging third parties, and relationships may be terminated where unethical or corrupt conduct is identified.

Record Keeping

All recruitment activities, financial transactions, commissions, expenses, and student records must be accurately documented and maintained in accordance with company procedures and applicable legal requirements.

False, incomplete, or misleading records are strictly prohibited.

Reporting Concerns

All staff have a responsibility to report suspected or actual instances of bribery, corruption, fraud, or unethical conduct.

Reports may be made confidentially to management or through designated reporting channels. Vision Consultants Australia prohibits retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith.

All allegations will be investigated promptly, fairly, and confidentially.

Breaches of This Policy

Any breach of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment or contractual arrangements, and may be referred to relevant authorities where required by law.

Employee Acknowledgement

All employees and representatives of Vision Consultants Australia are required to:

  • Read and understand this policy;
  • Complete any required compliance training; and
  • Confirm their commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct in international student recruitment.
