NewsNT Sponsorship Now Open for Offshore Applicants Across Three Streams

Offshore applicants now have the opportunity to apply for Northern Territory (NT) sponsorship under three distinct streams: the Priority Occupation Stream, the NT Family Stream, and the NT Job Offer Stream. Each stream has specific criteria and requirements that must be met for eligibility.

Priority Occupation Stream

To qualify under the Priority Occupation Stream, applicants must:

  • Have their job role listed under the NT Offshore Occupation List.
  • Fulfill specific work experience requirements as outlined in the NT Sponsorship Occupation List.

NT Family Stream

Applicants seeking sponsorship under the NT Family Stream must:

  • Have a family member or relative who has been residing in the Northern Territory for at least 12 months. This family member or relative must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible New Zealand citizen, or hold one of the following visas:
    • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa subclass 491
    • Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa subclass 489
    • Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa subclass 494
    • A bridging visa granted in association with an application for a Skilled Regional Visa subclass 887 or Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) subclass 191 visa

Note: Family members living in the Northern Territory must be able to provide employment and accommodation assistance to the applicants.

NT Job Offer Stream

Applicants applying through the NT Job Offer Stream must:

  • Provide an employment offer in their nominated occupation from a business or company that has been active in the NT for a minimum of 12 months.

These streams offer multiple pathways for skilled workers to gain NT sponsorship, helping to bolster the workforce in the region while offering new opportunities for international applicants. Make sure to check the specific requirements for each stream to ensure your eligibility before applying.
