The Australian Government has appointed 14 new Members to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT Australia).

These 14 Members will begin their terms at the AAT on 19 August 2024 to ensure it maintains the capacity to hear matters in the period before the commencement of the new Administrative Review Tribunal (ART). Each member will transition to the ART when it commences on 14 October 2024.

Each Member was assessed as suitable for appointment by an independent selection panel as part of a transparent and merit-based process, conducted in accordance with the Guidelines for appointments to the AAT and closely informed by the requirements set out in the Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2024.

“I congratulate each of these members on their appointment to the AAT,” said the Government spokesperson.

The Government will announce further appointments to the AAT and the ART in due course.
