Tasmania has been allocated 2,860 nomination places for the financial year 2024-25, which are designated for the Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) visa and the Skilled Work Regional (subclass 491) visa. This distribution includes 2,100 places for the subclass 190 visa and 760 places for the subclass 491 visa.
Opening Soon: New Registrations of Interest
The Skilled Migration State Nomination Program in Tasmania will soon begin accepting new Registrations of Interest (ROIs). Specific details regarding the registration process and timeline will be announced in the coming weeks.
Processing of Pending Nomination Applications
For applicants who have already registered their nomination but are awaiting a decision, Migration Tasmania will process these applications according to the requirements that were in place at the time of their application. Eligible candidates will be nominated in SkillSelect once their applications have been reviewed.
Important Update for Subclass 491 Applicants Seeking Subclass 190 Nomination
Applicants who have registered for a subclass 491 nomination and are awaiting a decision will not be considered for a subclass 190 nomination under the current pending application. Those wishing to be considered for a subclass 190 nomination must withdraw their existing application and submit a new application when the registration reopens for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
Invitation to Apply
The criteria for new invitations to apply for a subclass 190 visa will depend on the level of interest and the availability of nomination places at the time.
Stay tuned for further updates from Migration Tasmania regarding the opening of new ROIs and other relevant information for the upcoming program year.
